SPARK invigorates the fireplace industry.
Introduced at the 2005 International Contemporary
Furniture Fair in New York City, SPARK modern fires are revolutionizing
the look and use of gas fires, for both home and commercial
installations. Until now, gas fireplaces have been limited to
traditional shapes and materials. The SPARK advantages: their
dimensions are modern, echoing the sleek shape of high-end electronics;
they can be installed in many different locations throughout the house
and at varying heights; and after installation, the surround options
are endless – copper, brass, stone, ceramic tiles, to name just a
few examples – so that the new fireplace truly reflects the
design of the room.
“We saw a real need for a more stylish,
versatile gas fire,” says SPARK co-founder Tom Healy, who has
years of experience in high-end home design and construction. “We
view the SPARK fire as a designed object that adds interest and romance
to a room. A SPARK fireplace can be added as a lively accent to any
room; next to the dining room table, in the master bath or bedroom, or
in a study.”
Healy calls the response from architects and
interior designers “amazing.” “SPARK fires are also a
terrific option for hotels, condos, high-end stores and other
environments where the upkeep and mess associated with a natural,
log-fed fire is not practical,” he adds.
