For SPARK’s debut collection, two models are
offered. The Fire Ribbon model features the beauty of the flame, pure
and simple: for the minimalist, the signature Spark fire houses only
lively “ribbons” of flame. The Beachcomber model comes with
driftwood “logs” on “stones” – both of
which look as if they have been worn by the waves, but actually are
made of fire-safe composites. For the romantic, the Beachcomber has all
the appeal of a surfside fire under the stars. Both models illuminate
via a wall switch or remote and deliver approximately 30,000
BTUs–so they can be enjoyed year round. The remote also controls
flame height, with high and low settings.
Two years in development,
SPARK’s principals plan to rollout
additional
designs in 2006. “As an entrepreneur,
I’m thrilled to bring to market a product that simply
doesn’t exist in the U.S.,” says Healy. “Our research
revealed that people were not excited by existing gas-fire products,
which are typically square, with brick surrounds. Their presentation
and uses were just too limiting. SPARK is changing all of that. And
because the firebox surround can be constructed of almost any material,
it can look modern
in a contemporary home, traditional in an antique
–
and anything in between.”
